I'm Done!
I have printed out my exegesis exam and will hand it in tomorrow morning. It feels SO GOOD to be done! And now that I'm done, I can tell you what passage I've been working on: Judges 11:29-40. Very interesting, and very intense.

Good passage, and a tough one. Jephthah's daughter was an innocent bystander in a rash promise. The issue of suffering is a tough nut to crack until you realize that it all comes from human fallability. Suffering happens for 3 reasons: 1. Personal actions, 2. Actions of others, and 3. Actions of past generations. Generally, these are all sinful actions. In this case, Jepthah's sin was one of not thinking things through or impatience. Perhaps that is why patience is a fruit of the spirit. You really have to feel for Jephthah's daughter...
